“I Can Rock the Minivan” – A Central Minnesota Family’s Personal Story of Buying a Minivan

I Can Rock the Minivan - Krysta Roemling and her Family next to their 2015 Dodge Grand CaravanKrysta Roemeling has bought her last three vehicles from Miller Auto & Marine. You could say she’s a loyal customer – and there are a few reasons for her loyalty, which I’ll get to. But what makes her story unique is that she’s not driving the vehicle she had her heart set on. She is, however, in a vehicle she loves and knows is right for this season of her busy family’s life. 

Busy, Bigger Family and the Vehicle to Support it All

Krysta and her husband, Josh, have three boys aged four, seven, and nine. They are an active family, and their hobbies take them on the road often. When Krysta was ready for a new family vehicle, she knew she wanted an SUV, and she knew it had to come from Miller Auto & Marine. Krysta met with Chris Boecker, and he took the time to sit down with her and Josh to discuss their needs, and get a feel for the family. Something, Krysta says, other dealerships just don’t do. 

Thinking of buying a new car? Make sure to ask these questions.“I had my heart set on an SUV – because I thought, you know what? I’m done with the minivan after driving one for the past 10 years. But Chris led us through all of that, and together we came to the conclusion that a minivan is just what our family needs right now. It’s the right fit for our family, economically, fits our family, and our boys just love it. When we brought it home, they wanted to sleep in it that night,” Krysta said. She went on to say that their van – a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan – is what her kids need right now. They can get in and out of it themselves, they are safe, and the late model has all the bells and whistles. It even has a moon roof. “I decided that if I drive a van, it has to be really nice,” Krysta added. 

Great Adventures on the Road

Krysta and Josh have family three hours south of their home in Avon, MN as well as a cabin up north. On these trips, the Roemelings need something that will hold them all, plus belongings. Trips to the cabin means boating and water sports; packing for three little boys for a weekend or more means lots of stuff, and lots of room. The Dodge Grand Caravan handles it all. Krysta said, “If I drove something else, I’d never be able to handle all the stuff – coolers, bags of clothes, toys, kid stuff, groceries, all of that. Plus, we pack what we need while riding comfortably. A van that is not too big, gets great gas mileage, plus has cargo space? That’s what we need. Also, if we plan a girls’ weekend, I get asked to drive because I have the van. Everyone is just jealous of that!” 

The Miller Auto & Marine Difference

Krysta’s relationship with Miller Auto & Marine began when she was a college student in Moorhead, MN. She went to the dealership on her own, and instantly liked the atmosphere. “I felt like I was taken care of. My needs were getting met, and I appreciated that. When it came time to buy my next vehicle, I shopped around a little. I checked out a few dealerships in Moorhead, but I just didn’t feel … like I was home, like I did with Miller Auto & Marine. As a woman who had done the legwork on researching the vehicles I was interested in, I felt like I was taken seriously. They listen to me, they respected me, and were great resources,” Krysta said. 

When it was time to upgrade to their current Dodge Grand Caravan, again, Krysta shopped around. She was looking for SUV’s, and when she’d walk into dealerships, she didn’t experience that warm, welcoming ambiance Miller Auto & Marine offers. None of the sales staff were willing to sit down with her or ask what her needs were. “So, I went back to see Chris at Miller Auto & Marine. He knows our family, and knows our lifestyle. He asked me questions that I really had to think about, and I appreciated that. If it hadn’t been for Chris, I would have bought something that wouldn’t work best for my family, and I would be unhappy with the purchase,” Krysta added. 

“We are very functional in our family. It has to work. It has to fit. It may not be the exact look right now on the outside that I want, but someday I’ll have that. Right now, this is what my family needs. I’m totally okay with that, because I can rock the minivan,” she concluded.
