Rick is one of our service technicians at Miller Auto & Marine. This video walks you through how to check the oil in your vehicle:
Step 1: Turn off the engine and open the hood. Allow the engine to sit for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Remove the dipstick and wipe off the residual oil. The dipstick is typically yellow.
Step 3: Re-insert the dipstick and check it again for the most accurate reading.
Refer to your vehicle’s owner manual to determine your engine oil level safe zone, and for the specific location of your oil well. It'll be different for each vehicle.
Make sure to get your oil changed every 3,000 – 5,000 miles. It will save you money in the long run.
