What is The Women of Influence Summit?
The Women of Influence Summit is a one-day event put on by Next Monday. It's being held on Thursday, September 22nd at the Gorecki Center at the College of St. Benedict’s. The Summit includes speaker presentations, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities all focused on learning more about the influence women possess and how to grow and exercise that influence. Learn more about how you can participate and pre-register here.
Miller Auto & Marine & Women of Influence
Now, you might be asking yourself: “Why is Miller Auto & Marine sponsoring a women’s summit?” The short answer is that we have a vested interest in influential women. You see, we encounter the real-world influence women have on the auto industry each and every day, both in the women who come here as customers and the women who work here.
Women are Our Customers
As a 2015 Forbes article pointed out, women are the world’s most powerful consumers, and their impact on the economy grows every year. Statistically, women drive nearly 80% of consumer purchasing decisions, which includes new and used vehicles. In many homes, women carry the pocketbook and handle the finances.
Women buy on behalf of themselves and others within the household, and women care about a lot more than just the color of their vehicles. When it comes to new and used auto purchases, women focus on quality, safety, dependability, value, and much more. In fact, detailing what women focus on in the auto buying arena doesn’t have a simple answer because all women aren’t the same.
Women are Our Staff
Not only are women our customers, women are our staff. Miller Auto & Marine has female employees in all areas of our business, from service techs to sales and everything in-between, our employment of women is on the rise. Although the auto industry is generally considered male-dominated, this couldn’t be further from the truth for us.
Why We Support Next Monday
Beyond falling in line with our dedication to community involvement, we became presenting partners with Next Monday for the Women of Influence Summit because we believe in the supporting the women in our community. And if we’re lucky, some of them might work here one day.
